THE PHYSICIANS AT REGIONAL ONE HEALTH HAVE A PASSION FOR SUPPORTING THE HOSPITAL SYSTEM. PEOPLE INSIDE THE ORGANIZATION AREN’T JUST RELYING ON EXTERNAL SOURCES. THE PHYSICIANS AND NON-PHYSICIANS THAT MAKE UP REGIONAL ONE HEALTH ARE VERY GENEROUS BECAUSE WE SEE THE NEEDS FIRSTHAND.
Physicians at Regional One Health recently formed the new Physicians’ Trust as a way to give back. The trust is helping sustain programs, buy equipment and enhance facilities.
Dr. Bruce Steinhauer serves as Chairman of the Physician’s Trust Steering Committee. The committee was created to provide advice and direction to the Foundation regarding ways physicians can best participate.
Dr. Steinhauer believes that garnering support from physicians is a growing trend among non-profit hospitals. “We have a big responsibility to work together to improve the health of our community. The hospital system, the government and insurance companies can’t do it alone.”
“I’m not sure people realize that a large number of our patients wouldn’t be able to get the care they need without Regional One Health,” Dr. Steinhauer continues. “We work in an environment that requires philanthropy from a lot of people. And the physicians at Regional One Health feel they should be a part of it.”
“There is a great need to continue to improve the way we deliver health care to our community,” Dr. Steinhauer adds. “If others outside the hospital system could see what we see every day, we would have much more support.”
