Dan Case may be 82-years-old, but that doesn’t stop him from riding his bicycle from his home to many destinations around Midtown Memphis. Dan believes in ecologically friendly modes of transportation. He also believes in giving back to society. One way he does that is by supporting Regional One Health Foundation.

Dan has grown to love Memphis over the past 10 years since he relocated here from Maryland to be closer to one of his three daughters. Early on, he began looking for ways to give back. Once he learned about the critical role Regional One Health plays in the health of our community, he wanted to do his part.

“Regional One Health is vitally important to the entire Mid-South,” Dan says. “If my daughter needed medical care, I would want her to have the very best available. It’s the kind of thing you don’t think about until you need it, but it’s something that affects us all.”

Dan helps provide support directly to the Elvis Presley Trauma Center, the only level 1 trauma center within 150 miles of the Mid-South. Traumatic injuries can happen in the blink of an eye and quickly change the course of one’s life.

Having this level of care has saved literally tens of thousands of lives over the past three decades. The trauma center’s survival rate is almost 25 percent higher than the national average.

THIS KIND OF ADVANCED CARE COMES WITH A HIGH COST. THAT’S WHY SUPPORT FROM THE COMMUNITY IS SO IMPORTANT. I’M PROVIDING JUST A MODEST PART OF THAT COMMUNITY SUPPORT, BUT OUR DONATIONS TOGETHER CAN MAKE REAL DIFFERENCES IN PEOPLE’S LIVES.

Dan also helps support public education and other causes in Memphis. “There are lots of worthwhile needs here,” he says, “and many fine organizations addressing them. Regional One Health is surely one of the most important to our community.”
