Sandra Fletchall, our burn rehabilitation manager, received the Provider of the Year Award at this year’s Memphis Business Journal Health Care Hero Awards.
Health care professionals know how difficult recovering from severe burns can be. Helping patients through both the physical pain and emotional scarring that often accompanies the long rehabilitation process for a burn victim is the core of Sandra Fletchall’s work as the manager of Burn Rehabilitation at the Firefighters Burn Center at Regional One Health.
Rehab begins while patients are still in the hospital and often lasts far beyond discharge. Fletchall has published 14 clinical chapters and peer-reviewed articles focusing on a variety of topics in her specialty. She currently serves as a governor-appointee to the Tennessee State Workers Compensation Advisory Panel and as Secretary to Licensure and board member for the Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Examiners State Review. Having worked in burn rehabilitation for 40 years has prepared Fletchall for anything she might encounter and made her indispensable to the thousands of patients with whom she’s worked during her career.
