The Memphis Fire Fighters Foundation has presented a check for $25,000 to Regional One Health’s Fire Fighters Burn Center.
The foundation holds an annual Charity Golf Classic with proceeds benefitting the Fire Fighters Burn Center. This year’s event took place Sept. 18 at Stonebridge Golf Club in Lakeland. Members of the Memphis Fire Fighters Foundation made the donation to the Fire Fighters Burn Center on Oct. 11.
The Memphis Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 1784 created the foundation in 2013 to assist in its charitable activities across the Memphis area, including its annual golf tournament.
Firefighters Burn Center treats more than 500 patients annually, including 300 inpatient admissions. It’s the only full-service burn center of its kind within a 150-mile radius of Memphis, featuring 14 beds, an outpatient clinic, surgery facilities, a rehabilitation center, research division and special cutting-edge burn care equipment. Firefighters Burn Center has earned verification from the American Burn Association and the American College of Surgeons, making it the only burn center in Tennessee to earn the honor.
