UT Regional One Physicians has welcomed Drs. Ramona Phinehas, Ashekia Pinckney, Marina Santa Cruz Terrazas and Pedro Argoti Torres to the OB/GYN practice at Regional One Health.

These four join the nationally and internationally renowned, board-certified physicians dedicated to women’s health issues in our OB/GYN clinic.

Dr. Phinehas, MD, is an OB/GYN physician at Regional One Health and a clinical instructor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She received her medical degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Belgaum, India, and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at UTHSC and St. John’s Medical College Hospital in Bangalore, India.

Dr. Phinehas said witnessing new life is her favorite part of OB/GYN practice.

“I am present to witness the miracle of life every time a baby takes his or her first breath,” she said.

Dr. Pinckney, MD, is an OB/GYN physician at Regional One Health. She earned her medical degree from Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at UTHSC.

Dr. Pinckney chose women’s health because of women’s unique health care needs.

“The relationship between an OB/GYN and their patients is an intimate relationship,” she said. “As physicians, we are fortunate enough to share in huge milestones in their life. My favorite part of my job is being able to look in a mother’s eyes the first time they are able to see their newborn.”

Dr. Santa Cruz Terrazas, MD, is an OB/GYN physician at Regional One Health and an instructor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UTHSC. She is originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and received her medical degree from Private University of the Valley in Bolivia. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at UTHSC.

“For me, being able to build a connection with my patients based on their confidence and trust of my abilities is an unparalleled quality of the patient-gynecologist relationship,” Dr. Santa Cruz Terrazas said.

Dr. Argoti Torres, MD, is an OB/GYN physician at Regional One Health and an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UTHSC. He received his medical degree from University of Cauca in Cauca, Colombia, and completed his obstetrics and gynecology internship at State University of New York at Buffalo and residency at Wayne State University in Detroit.
