Regional One Health nurse midwife Brenda “Breia” Loft, CNM, MSN, joined Levitt Shell Executive Director Anne Pitts on Local 24 earlier this week to discuss the upcoming weekend of concerts in the Regional One Memphis Music Series as well as midwifery services at Regional One Health.
The Regional One Memphis Music Series began June 17 and takes place throughout the Orion Free Concert Series at the Levitt Shell this summer and fall. This week’s Regional One Memphis Music Series features Patriotic Pops on June 28, Paul Thorn & Blind Boys of Alabama on June 29 and Stax Academy on June 30. A Stax rain date is Sunday, July 1.
“Regional One is incredible,” Pitts told Local Memphis Live host Amy Speropoulos. “They’ve been a wonderful sponsor of the Levitt Shell. We’re pleased to partner with them.”
Loft is one of six nurse midwives at Regional One Health. They will attend this weekend’s Regional One Memphis Music Series shows to share more about their services and how they provide important care to women at two outpatient clinics as well as in the hospital during labor and delivery. Women who want to receive care from a nurse midwife during labor and delivery in a hospital setting can do so at Regional One Health.
“We bring to the table another good option,” Loft said. “We’re master-prepared, advanced practice nurses. We follow evidence-based recommendations. We work closely with physicians and deliver in a hospital. So we’re high-touch, low-intervention type of care. Safety is always first and a close second is mom’s experience with her delivery.”
