Regional One Health’s East Campus will host an advanced training program on the Graston Technique, which therapists can use to expand their options for treating patients with various forms of musculoskeletal dysfunction.
The M2-Advanced Training program will be Saturday, December 7 from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 8 from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The East Campus is at 6555 Quince Road.
Ambrosia Scott, DPT, LAT, CCI, outpatient therapy manager for Regional One Health, said the course will teach providers how to incorporate Graston Technique into a full range of treatment approaches.
“Regional One Health is hosting this course to give therapists from throughout the area a chance to enhance their care for patients with various injuries and conditions,” she said.
“The Graston Technique has a wide range of applications and can be helpful to many of the patients we see.”
The Graston Technique is a form of manual therapy that allows physical therapists to effectively diagnose and treat soft tissue dysfunction through innovative manual therapy techniques.
Studies indicate it leads to faster recovery from injuries and can help with chronic conditions. Physical therapists use the Graston Technique for conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, IT band pain, C-section and mastectomy scarring, rotator cuff injuries and hammer toe.
Scott said December’s training program will give therapists a chance to advance their Graston Technique skills so they can provide more options for patients.
“The East Campus is excited to host this program for providers from Regional One Health and other health care systems who want to improve the therapy options for their patients,” she said.
Providers who complete the course are eligible for continuing education credits.
