Regional One Health’s Kirby Primary Care practice at 2725 Kirby Road, Suite 1 is now open.
The neighborhood practice offers primary care for the entire family, including physical exams, treatment of acute and chronic illnesses and preventative medicine. It introduces a new service as well, bringing our Certified Nurse Midwives to the area to provide exceptional pregnancy and well-woman care.
Patients also benefit from easy access to our East Campus just down the street, where they’ll find a full-service pharmacy, an imaging center and multispecialty care.
Regional One Health’s newest primary care practice brings a patient-centered, neighborhood medicine approach to providing world-class health care for the entire family.
Kirby Primary Care is now open in East Memphis at 2725 Kirby Road, Suite 1.
It is a neighborhood practice that offers primary care services for children and adults, including physical exams, treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, preventative medicine and more. Kirby Primary Care also introduces a new service to the community via our Certified Nurse Midwives, who provide a personalized style of obstetric and well-woman care.
“Kirby Primary Care brings a team of health care providers together to care for the whole family in a new general medicine practice. We are a neighborhood family practice, and we look forward to welcoming our neighbors of all ages,” said Kim Bell, vice president of ambulatory services.
Primary care services are provided by physician Cecilia Dowsing-Adams, MD and Certified Family Nurse Practitioners Amanda Best, Carol Simmons and Jeff Stricklin.
They share a philosophy of partnering with patients to help improve the health and wellbeing of the entire family. “There is nothing like the thrill of walking into one room to care for a newborn and the next room to care for a grandmother,” Dr. Dowsing-Adams said. “I enjoy being part of an organization that still believes in providing compassionate, quality care focusing on the needs of patients.”
The primary care providers are joined by Certified Nurse Midwives Maria Hallford, Davin Johnson, Breia Loft, Meghan Madea, Edna Tucker and Amanda Williams. They see women at all stages of life and provide a service that is unique in the community.
Regional One Health is the only hospital in Memphis where women can give birth in a hospital setting with the help of a Certified Nurse Midwife. That means patients benefit from all the technology and resources of a major hospital while still enjoying a low-intervention style of care that empowers them to advocate for themselves throughout their pregnancy and labor and delivery.
In addition to delivering babies, Certified Nurse Midwives follow patients for low-risk obstetrics and well-woman care.
Patients at Kirby Primary Care also benefit from convenient access to follow-up services such as imaging, medical specialists and pharmacy. Our East Campus is located just down the street and houses a full-service pharmacy, its own imaging center and a multispecialty practice.
Kirby Primary Care helps Regional One Health achieve its mission of providing exceptional health care services of choice at locations that are easily-accessible for our patients. It is the health care system’s sixth primary care site, adding an important eastern location to the current locations that span the city from north, south, central and downtown Memphis.
That supports Regional One Health’s mission of keeping the Mid-South healthier by reaching more patients to provide expert medical care.
“Adding this location to our primary care network gives us the opportunity to expand our services in this area. We were able to bring primary care providers under one roof while also adding pediatrics and midwifery in this community,” said Bell.
“This growth is an indicator of our commitment to providing our community with convenient access to primary care services from downtown to east Memphis.”
