Bilawal Ahmed, MD is a board-certified hematologist and oncologist at Regional One Health. He obtained his medical degree from Sindh Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan and is currently pursuing his Master’s in Health Administration degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport.
Dr. Ahmed completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago, and then completed a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Dr. Ahmed is committed to ensuring patient welfare and understanding and looks to provide quality cancer care. He has received numerous academic honors and has served as a leader in several health care system quality improvement projects.
Dr. Ahmed cited a quote from poet and novelist Charles Bukowski to describe the philosophy he lives by: “Find what you love and let it kill you.” To him, this means practicing medicine and especially taking care of the vulnerable patient population undergoing the journey of cancer.
In his spare time, Dr. Ahmed enjoys spending time with his family and travel.
While growing up, he participated in Boy Scouts, which led him to have an inquisitive nature of exploring places and meeting people around the globe. He has a personal goal to visit at least one new country every year and to visit a quarter of them (195 countries) before he reaches age 50.
