Marye Bernard, DNP, MSN, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner at Regional One Health and an adjunct assistant professor in Nursing-Academic Programs at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from UTHSC.

“I became a nurse practitioner after working with one, who took such good care of her patients,” Bernard shared. “My favorite part of being a nurse practitioner is the opportunity to serve, which brings me joy and satisfaction to know that the work that God has allowed me to do actually helps someone.”

Bernard states that she loves taking care of patients living with HIV and enjoys the evolution of treatment, thinking, and community involvement. “My philosophy is to take care of each individual patient as I would want to be taken care of,” Bernard said. “Since people are different, I believe that everyone deserves a clean slate, an objective ear, and the best medical evaluation possible.”
