As an instructor at University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Dr. Martinez reinforces his belief in the importance of educating patients to his students.
“Education is empowering. The more a person understands their own condition, the easier it will be to deal with it on a daily and long-term basis,” Dr. Martinez said.
Dr. Martinez completed a fellowship in experimental/clinical epilepsy and neurophysiology at University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.
“The University of Virginia Epilepsy Program was one of the first three created in the country. I am glad and proud to have trained there,” Dr. Martinez said. “While I see and treat all kinds of neurological conditions, epilepsy and seizure disorders have a special place in my heart and I am particularly well equipped to help those patients.”
