Regional One Health places a tremendous value on innovation, technological advancement, and excellent educational opportunities within the healthcare arena. As we strive to be the premier academic hospital in the region, we foster efforts to educate the newer generations who show interest in math, science, and other healthcare areas.

The Teenteer Program is a Summer Program for high school students that affords them the opportunity to work in a healthcare environment, while providing service to their community. As part of this program, teens receive hands-on volunteer experience and become familiar with the hospital setting while assisting staff. Teenteers participate in an enriching and educational summer experience of learning, leadership development, skill training, and overall personal growth.

The Teenteer Program is very competitive and only takes those students who have a vested interest in the healthcare industry, serving their community and who can meet the required commitment of the program. The number of students accepted into each program will vary per year based on the demand.

Commitment

The Teenteer Program runs for one week during the summer via an online platform. This program is open to high school students, ages 16 -18.

Qualifications

All Teenteer volunteers must be at least sixteen years of age by the first day of the session and must be entering or a current high school student. As with all volunteer opportunities here at Regional One Health, after all application materials are completed and submitted, each applicant must submit two reference letters and a copy of the most recent report card.

Participants in the Teenteer Program will have increased engagement within the healthcare profession. The students will be challenged to explore the health care professionals in areas of interest.
